Position Summary

Sinclair Community College is a comprehensive community college with an enrollment of over 23,000 students that offers career and transfer programs leading to an associate degree, certificate programs, and continuing education opportunities. The Science, Mathematics and Engineering Division at Sinclair is currently seeking candidates for an Annually Contracted Faculty opening in the Industrial Engineering Technology Department effective , August 16, 2017.

All positions are pending final budget approval for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Principal Accountabilities

*Teach at least 30 credit hours per academic year
*Cooperate with full-time faculty, the department chairperson, and the division dean in implementing the instructional program


*Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality required
*Master’s preferred
*Expertise in Quality Engineering topics such as Metrology, Advanced Metrology (Coordinate Measuring Machines), Statistical Process Control, Calibration and American Society for Quality Certifications preferred
*Knowledge of Industrial Engineering topics such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Motion and Time Study and Engineering essential
*Teaching experience in IET or Quality classes is highly desirable
*ASQ certifications preferred
*Five years minimum industrial experience in IET or Quality environment essential
*Availability to teach on Dayton campus as well as off campus sites required
*A demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level, including ability to teach in a student-centered active learning model required
*Effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community required
