Position Summary

Sinclair Community College is a comprehensive community college serving the Miami Valley region and beyond. The College invites applications for an Annually Contracted Faculty position in Education that will begin August 16, 2017.

• Annually Contracted Faculty (ACF) appointments are full-time, temporary positions limited to one academic year. Appointments are not automatically awarded for subsequent years, but rather, are awarded on a year-by-year basis at the sole discretion of Sinclair Community College.

Principal Accountabilities

The primary responsibilities of an Annually Contracted Faculty position are to teach a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester; to work closely with the department chair to implement the policies of the department and college; to participate in department, division and college-wide meetings; to maintain office hours and respond to student inquiries in a timely and effective manner; and to respond to requests from the chair and dean as appropriate. Committee service is not required.


*A minimum of a master’s in Education required
*Experience in public school education systems, working with students with exceptionalities, and knowledge of federal, state and local laws that impact public education required

*Evidence of successful prior teaching experience, and ability to teach classroom and online courses
*A demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level, including ability to teach in a student-centered active learning model
*Effective communication and interpersonal skills
The capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community
