Position Summary

Sinclair is seeking high school instructors interested in being credentialed to teach college credit courses in their respective high schools as part of Sinclair’s College Credit Plus program. High School instructors must be appropriately credentialed in the discipline they wish to teach.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Plan, organize, and deliver college instruction in ways which maximize student learning
  • Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
  • Employ appropriate college-level teaching and learning strategies
  • Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • Employ available instructional technology when appropriate, according to academic department policies
  • Maintain familiarity with College goals, mission and long-range plans
Requirements
  • Must be a current high school teacher, licensed and teaching in the state of Ohio required
  • Must have a master’s degree or equivalent to meet the Higher Learning Commission requirements for the subject area
  • To teach general education courses, the candidate must have a master’s degree in the content area or a master’s degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in the content area. Those with only 6 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in the content area may still qualify for Faculty Fellows program.
  • Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field or discipline
  • Display an ability to interpret and evaluate theories in the field or discipline
  • Stay current in subject matter through professional development
  • A demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the college course and program level

This is not a paid position with Sinclair College.

**In the cover letter please identify which courses you would like to teach. Applications must include a copy of transcripts.

**The Faculty Fellows Program is designed to assist high school teachers to begin teaching the college course-work while earning the required graduate credit hours in the content area. All high school teachers must have the requirements earned by 2022 and tuition assistance is available while funds remain.
